My best friend and I could not be further apart from each other on the topic of religion, but that doesn’t separate us.
For example, he doesn’t believe in celebrating birthdays, yet our family invites him to our birthday celebrations. We are happy to receive him and his family in our home. They don’t get upset that we’re celebrating a birthday and we don’t get upset they don’t bring presents or recognize the reason for the event.
We love playing golf together and we find plenty of interesting topics to discuss on the course that unite rather than divide us.
