Digging into deep listening

by The 100 Companies

I’ve come to a powerful realization of late, one that’s working at home and in the office.

It’s okay to listen without responding. In fact, we have two ears (versus just one mouth) for a reason: Hearing is literally twice as important as speaking. And nature is showing us as much!

Make no mistake: Listening without responding is a skill most have to develop with intention, one that requires interrupting deep-seated muscle memory.

Go ahead, give it a try. In my experience, listening without responding is the first step toward being present and not jumping to solve problems. It’s brilliant.
