On being present

by The 100 Companies

The number of open “tabs” in my mind, at any given moment, is often alarming; an internet browser operating in the same fashion would surely crash.

Hence my delight at discovering the simplicity of Thich Nhat Hanh, a Buddhist monk, Zen master and activist whose books have been stacked on my bedside table of late.

Known as the “father of mindfulness,” Thich Nhat Hanh’s simple meditations – on seemingly quotidian topics such as “How to Love” and “How to Walk” – settle my brain and allow me to focus on what’s really important: Living in the moment with fulfillment, joy and gratitude.
