Telematics aren’t seen as Big Brother anymore

by The 100 Companies

Every customer I’ve signed up for an insurance policy was interested in saving money. How much data will you share to do so?

Take telematics – technology sending your vehicle’s data to insurance companies. With it, we monitor how hard you brake, how fast you drive, what hours you’re on the road, etc. We use telematics to reward the better drivers with lower rates.

Sounds simple right? In the early years, we had to plead, beg and nearly bribe a customer to employ it. In 2019, 41% of drivers were comfortable using it. After the pandemic, that number rose to 54%.
