Despite the epic heat, make this summer shine after dark at Flashlight Nights, held each Saturday from 6:30-9:30 p.m. through Sept. 2 at Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix.
Bring a torch, follow the trail and watch as the garden comes to life post-sunset. Search for night-blooming plants and nocturnal animal activity, plus cool treats, hands-on activities and creature features (scorpion station, anyone?).
Enjoy fabulous, fun-for-the-whole-family performances – featuring Latin American music and traditional Mexican dance – courtesy of Ballet Folklórico Esperanza (07/22, 08/22), Harmony Project – Mariachi (07/29) and Orquesta Caribeña (08/22, 09/02).
Grab a flashlight and get ready to chill out.
