Have you ever seen someone run a red light and thought, “Wow, our city has the worst drivers”? It’s pretty much a universal sentiment among urban dwellers, but new data reveals that some of us might actually be right.
In a recent study, Forbes Advisor pored through NHTSA data to discover which cities truly had the highest rates of distracted driving, speeding and road accidents relative to population size. Albuquerque, Memphis and Detroit took the top three spots, while Tuscon and Phoenix took No. 4 and No. 8, respectively.
Hopefully the rise of autonomous vehicles will bring accident rates down.
