Hertz recently decided to dump 20,000 EVs in favor of gas cars, citing waning customer demand. But to those customers I’d say: you’re missing out.
EVs aren’t ideal to own yet but they make for fantastic rentals. Compared to the equivalent gas-powered rental they’re faster, more spacious, more fun to drive and appear higher class to your passengers. You don’t have to worry about depreciation, and some companies don’t even require you to charge them back up, so you save $50+ on gas.
Just be sure that you rent one using a credit card that includes free auto rental insurance.
