As many as one in 12 U.S. businesses that open today are franchises, with one opening every eight minutes, according to Jeffrey H. Wolf, a partner at Quarles & Brady in Phoenix with nearly 30 years’ experience in franchise law.
Wolf said Arizona is one of the hottest climates for franchises worldwide, and it’s expected to have the nation’s third-highest rate of franchise-employment growth at 4.9 percent this year. Additionally, the state ranks fifth in projected franchise economic output at 7.4 percent, according to a recent study released by IHS Economics for the International Franchise Association.
