Few things are more important to Andrea Mitchell than keeping her heart healthy, and her passion for the American Heart Association is deep.
In 1977, Mitchell’s mother, Juanita, was home alone when her father suffered a fatal heart attack; Juanita was 15 years old.
“My mom’s experience has been the driving force behind my decision to get involved with Leaders of Impact,” said Mitchell, underscoring the ripple effects – within families and throughout communities – when someone dies by heart attack.
This year, she’s participating in memory of her grandfather, Fillimon M. Lopez, who loved Mitchell’s mom (and all his children) infinitely.
