Water truly is a scarce resource

When there is demand for a finite resource, then ultimately we must deal with scarcity issues. In the case of water, this doesn’t mean your faucet will go dry. It doesn’t mean we must stop economic growth.

Scarcity means it will become tougher to acquire, become more expensive, and there will be growing competition for the resource. Even though in many ways Arizona has led in comprehensive water management, scarcity issues are emerging in Arizona. The good news is that we can each do more; end-users, government, water intensive industries, and water utility professionals, to minimize the impacts. Get involved.
