According to the 2018 Citizen Centric Cities report released by Arcadis, there are 50 cities in the United States that are making the biggest strides when it comes to embracing and improving sustainability.
Topping the list are Washington, D.C. (at number one), New York City, Denver, Boston, Los Angeles, Chicago, Seattle, Baltimore, Atlanta and Portland. They scored highest when it comes to various methodologies, including walkability, green jobs, LEED-certified buildings, green commuting options, access to general public transportation, air quality improvement, biking options, increase in efficient energy usage and sustainable city policies.
Both Phoenix (19) and Mesa (49) made the list.
