I want to give Henrik Fisker a hug. After designing one of the best-looking cars ever – the DB9 – Fisker risked everything to create a Tesla alternative in 2012, the Karma. But the risk didn’t pay off, largely due to Hurricane Sandy wiping out 346 of the 2,450 Karmas built.
Undaunted, Fisker returned in 2023 with the Ocean crossover. Barring some glitches and growing pains, early adopters seemed to love it, but as acquisition talks failed, Fisker stock plummeted until it got delisted. Now, Fisker is desperately trying to sell his Oceans for $24,999.
If anyone deserves another chance, it’s Henrik.
