Thanks to funding from the Federal Transit Administration, Phoenix has received $6.4 million to replace city buses and upgrade local facilities.

With this grant, the city will be able to purchase 15 buses with upgraded technology. Each vehicle will have multiple interior and exterior cameras and a gauge to determine the number of riders. They will also have real-time vehicle trackers, available on smartphone transit apps, so riders will know the location of the bus and when it has arrived.

The Federal Transit Administration has awarded $366.2 million in grants nationwide in order to improve America’s bus systems.
