Pascua Yaqui Tribe awards grants to local organizations

The Pascua Yaqui Tribe – State of Arizona Tribal Gaming Compact provides the opportunity for the Tribe to donate 12% of its annual contributions required by the Compact to Arizona cities, towns, or counties for government services that benefit the public. The Tribe funds programs that address significant community needs.

At its 12% Recognition Breakfast, Chairman Robert Valencia, Treasurer Raymundo Baltazar and Councilwomen Herminia Frias and Rosa Soto Alvarez, on behalf of the Tribal Council and the Tribe’s Casino Operations, awarded grants totaling $283,322.

The grants will be used for capital improvement projects and educational and social programs and initiatives.
