Inspiration from the wish of a child

by The 100 Companies

Seven-year-old Chris Greicius dreamed of being a motorcycle officer when he grew up. He wished he could be just like Ponch and Jon from his favorite television show, “CHiPs.” He also had end-stage leukemia.

When officers at the Arizona Department of Public Safety learned of Greicius’ situation, they created a plan to grant his wish. The young boy spent a day as a police officer, rode in a police helicopter and was sworn in as an honorary Public Safety patrolman.

Sadly, he passed away soon afterward – but his experience became the inspiration for the creation of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
