Hohokam Elementary School recently broke ground on a significant modernization project. The plan was developed in partnership with the Scottsdale Unified School District and stakeholders after a series of public meetings, during which time preserving the historical importance of the property was ensured.
The administration and lobby will move to the front of the property to help better enhance security. It also adds an outdoor, shaded amphitheater, new cafeteria, Wi-Fi, upgraded insulation and sweeping upgrades to all mechanical and electrical systems. The new design also takes modern ergonomics into account. The school expects the update to be completed by summer 2021.
