Dress Shop Uses Fabric to Make Masks

Local formal-wear shop Glam Squad Couture would normally be getting ready to fit girls into prom and pageant dresses this time of year, but with events being cancelled, its operations have changed drastically.

Boutique owner Patti Council knew she could use this time to fill a void and focus her efforts on making masks out of materials in her shop in Scottsdale, Ariz. The masks are made from breathable, but non-woven polypropylene, the same material used to make surgical masks. The shop plans to make 300 masks and has already donated 100 to dozens of medical offices in the Valley.
