• What’s the best gift you’ve ever given (or the most memorable you’ve received)?
• Which [book, podcast, TV show] would you recommend?
• What are you looking forward to in the new year?
When in doubt, don’t sweat it: The goal is to keep things light and (politely) move on to the next conversation without getting agitated.
