The gender pay gap is real. Arizona women, on average, receive 85% of the pay of men.
And sadly, that said, Arizona boasts one of the smallest gaps in gender pay equity in the country. Employers may be aware of this reality but not be clear on the risk of perpetuating this disparity. Recently, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) reaffirmed its plans to move forward with reporting on pay data.
Once it receives this information from companies, the EEOC can enforce the Equal Pay Act and initiate investigations or levy fines. Employers – audit your pay practices to avoid surprises.
