The Clarinet in Jazz: From the early days of ragtime and marching bands, to the height of jazz’s popularity during the swing era, and to the modern era, the clarinet has remained an important and foundational instrument to the world of jazz. This lecture, presented by Dr. Josh Bennett, will focus on the history of the Clarinet within the realm of jazz by highlighting and investigating music and performers from jazz eras and regions all over the world during this 90 minute lecture. So get your best box of reeds and sit back as we listen and discuss one of the great instruments of the world!
