Property Kicks off Earth Month Celebration with Nod to Climate Change Awarenessreen
What: In an effort to bring awareness to climate change, Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino will join thousands of other businesses, organizations and residences around the world in turning off all non-essential exterior lights for one hour from 8:30-9:30 p.m. local time.
When: Saturday, March 28 at 8:30-9:30 p.m.
Where: Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino, 15406 Maricopa Road Maricopa, Ariz. 85139
The property will also celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Earth Month by hosting various recycling and clean-up events throughout the month of April:
- Educational activities and Earth Day Exhibits that educate the public about promoting environmental stewardship will be on display at Milton “Paul” Antone Memorial Park located at 46869 W. Farrell Road in Maricopa, Arizona on April 18 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
- Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino employees will participate in an Adopt-A-Highway Clean-Up event on April 22 from 8-9 a.m. focusing on the three mile stretch of Highway 347 in front of Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino.
- Shred-It trucks will be on the Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino property from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on April 25. The event is open and free to employee and community members that want to get rid of unwanted paper products (no cardboard).
