In Arizona, more than half of kindergarteners have dental cavities, which is greater than the national average for 5-year-olds. The Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation has granted Neighborhood Outreach Access to Health (NOAH) $100,000 to use over two years to ensure these children receive oral health education and reduce the rate of cavities.

NOAH’s “Smiles for Kids” program typically provides in-person oral health education, dental screenings and fluoride varnish services to more than 3,000 students at primarily Title 1 elementary schools in Deer Valley, Scottsdale and Paradise Valley. Amid COVID-19, NOAH has retooled the program to provide education via video.
