March 20 is International Day of Happiness. Thanks to the work done by the United Nations and nonprofit Action for Happiness, the goal of the movement is to spread awareness that progress is not only about increasing the bottom line and encouraging economic growth, but well-being and human happiness as well.
Happiness is about our lives as a whole: the fluctuating feelings we experience every day and our overall satisfaction with life. It’s influenced by our genes, upbringing and our external circumstances. And it’s influenced by our choices, attitudes, how we approach our relationships, personal values and sense of purpose.
