Johnny Mitchell Jr. and I founded The Bra Recyclers to meet the needs of women and girls without access to bras. The company first began by identifying the need in local shelters in the Phoenix-area, and has grown to reach over 100 shelters in 24 states in America and four African countries.
Our goal is to recycle, reuse or repurpose bras to women and girls escaping domestic violence, drug addiction and human trafficking, as well as breast cancer survivors, while also helping reduce the number of textiles going to our landfills. To date, nearly 2 million bras have been donated.
