Back to school events for students and teachers

It still feels like summer, but the school year is right around the corner! This week, there’s a special event to help you get ready. Tomorrow, Aug. 1, head to the Tucson Convention Center from 4:30-7:30 p.m. for Badges & Backpacks. One thousand backpacks with school supplies will be given out (first-come, first-served; one backpack per school-aged child) and there’ll also be free h earing, physicals, vision and dental checks and more.

And for the teachers … don’t miss Teacher Appreciation Days at Reid Park Zoo (Aug. 3 and 4). Show your faculty ID or teaching credential for free admission.
