UMOM New Day Centers, an innovative provider of shelter for people experiencing homelessness, has opened its latest affordable housing complex, 19West.
The building, near 19th Avenue and Glendale in Phoenix, offers 54 two- and three-bedroom apartments to families and individuals in need. Apartments come fully furnished with new appliances. The campus includes a community room with a patio and kitchen, study rooms, music rooms, exercise areas, computer labs and a food pantry.
Within the first few days after the grand opening, 35 of the units were leased. The building is expected to be full by the end of April.
